The Sakuddeï clan

Located off the west coast of Sumatra, the Mentawai Islands are home to one of Indonesia's best-preserved indigenous cultures. Among the various clans, the Sakuddei live in a remote valley in western Siberut, deep within the rainforest. Closely connected to nature, they are distinguished by the exemplary preservation of their traditional community organization, one of the most intact in the archipelago.
